Serafina Finnegan is a 2024 PBParty finalist, a 2023 mentee of the Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature, and a two-time winner of the Raynor Wallace Award for Poetry.
Serafina writes moving, lyrical picture books which respect the complex inner lives of children. Her stories are filled with green hills, craggy mountains, snowy journeys, and castles made of moonlight. Her characters learn the power of cultural storytelling, the importance of generational memories, and find strengths they didn’t know they had.
A New York native, Serafina now writes and dreams in rural Virginia.
When not writing, Serafina is a very tired parent to three book-hungry little boys.
